Step-by-step guide

How to convert radians to degrees

Three simple steps

  1. Write the radian measure, such as π/3 or 2.
  2. Multiply it by 180/π.
  3. Cancel π when possible, then round the decimal only at the end.

Worked example

To convert π/6 radians, calculate π/6 × 180/π. The π terms cancel and 180/6 = 30, so the angle is 30°.

When the input is a decimal

For 1 radian, 1 × 180/π is approximately 57.2958°. The calculator keeps this approximation separate from exact symbolic answers.
